Letters to the Governor on Palestine

Our voices need to be heard. We will be meeting with Governor Cooper the week of November 13 and will bring your letters with us demanding a ceasefire and an end to the Palestinian genocide that billions of our U.S. tax dollars are being used to fund.

SAMPLE LETTER COPY

My name is ______________________, and I'm a constituent of North Carolina. I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the statement made by you expressing unconditional support of Israel, without acknowledging the pain and oppression Palestinians have been undergoing for over 75 years. Your statement represents a one-sided and unbalanced stance on the situation in Palestine and Israel and fails to acknowledge the realities, struggles, and humanity of Muslim, Palestinian, and Arab constituency members, which may contribute to an environment of hostility in our schools, places of worship, workplaces, and even our homes.

(add personal statements here)

As Governor, you represent all constituents of North Carolina, thousands of whom are Palestinian Americans who are watching their families and loved ones being killed, and feeling unheard and unseen by our state leaders. This letter is in no way asking you to condone violence perpetrated on any civilian, but challenges you to adopt a thoughtful understanding of the long-lasting political crisis in Palestine to ensure a safe environment for all of your constituents. I ask that in light of your recent biased statement, you also issue a statement calling for ceasefire and an end to Palestinian genocide that billions of our U.S. tax dollars are being used to fund.

Thank you
